Streams

Stream Management

Streams are managed through the main dashboard. Each stream can have multiple inputs (UDP, HLS, HTTP) and multiple outputs (HLS, DASH, MPEG-TS, UDP, RTMP, SRT).

Stream States:

Running - Stream is actively transcoding

Starting - Stream is initializing

Stopped - Stream is not active

Error - Stream encountered an error

Output Formats:

HLS - HTTP Live Streaming (Apple format, widely compatible)

DASH - Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP

MPEG-TS - Transport Stream (continuous output)

UDP Multicast - Low-latency multicast delivery

RTMP - Real-Time Messaging Protocol

SRT - Secure Reliable Transport

GPU Transcoding

StreamManager uses NVIDIA GPU hardware acceleration for video transcoding:

NVDEC - Hardware video decoding (H.264, H.265, MPEG-2)

NVENC - Hardware video encoding (H.264, H.265)

CPU mode - libx264, libx265, libsvtav1 when no GPU

Zero-copy - Direct GPU memory transfer (same GPU decode+encode)

Cross-GPU - PCIe transfer with hwupload_cuda filter

Multi-GPU - Up to 6 GPUs with NUMA-affine CPU core allocation
